East Midlands | East of England | North London

Radiology, Interventional Imaging, Theatres & Radiation Safety

We are looking for a credible and motivated Business Development Manager to represent a specialist range of radiation protection garments across the East Midlands, East of England and North London.

This is a field-based medical sales role focused on supporting healthcare professionals who work in radiation environments. You will be engaging with radiographers, radiology managers, interventional teams, cath lab staff, theatre teams, radiation protection teams, procurement departments and private healthcare providers.

The role will suit someone who enjoys building long-term relationships, providing practical product guidance and helping customers choose the right protection solutions for their working environment.

The role

You will take ownership of a defined territory, managing existing accounts while actively developing new business opportunities. Your focus will be on radiation protection garments, including aprons, thyroid collars and related protective solutions, supporting customers with product selection, sizing, demonstrations, quotations and follow-up.

This is not simply a transactional sales role. Customers will expect you to understand the clinical environment, appreciate the importance of comfort, compliance and protection, and provide a professional level of support from initial enquiry through to order fulfilment.

You will work closely with internal sales, customer service, manufacturing and marketing teams to ensure the territory is well managed and growth opportunities are followed through.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Growing sales across NHS and private healthcare accounts
  • Developing relationships with radiology, theatre, cath lab and procurement teams
  • Promoting radiation protection garments and associated protection solutions
  • Supporting product demonstrations, sizing sessions and customer visits
  • Identifying opportunities for account growth and new customer acquisition
  • Managing territory activity, pipeline and reporting through CRM
  • Representing the business professionally at meetings, exhibitions and customer events

About you

You may already be working in medical device sales, healthcare sales, clinical consumables, PPE, radiology products or a related role. Alternatively, you may have a clinical background in radiography, theatres or radiation-related healthcare and be looking to move into a commercial role.

You will need to be confident, organised and comfortable managing a busy field-based territory. A good understanding of NHS structures, procurement processes and multi-stakeholder sales would be highly beneficial.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong commercial mindset and a professional approach
  • Experience selling to, supporting or working within healthcare environments
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence presenting products and discussing customer needs
  • Good organisation, follow-up and CRM discipline
  • Full UK driving licence

The opportunity

This is a chance to join a specialist UK business in a meaningful area of healthcare, helping clinical teams work safely and comfortably in radiation environments.

For the right person, this role offers autonomy, support, territory ownership and the opportunity to build a strong long-term career in a specialist medical sales market.

Package

Competitive salary, bonus or commission structure, car or car allowance and company benefits.

Business Development Manager – Radiology Equipment & Accessories

MRI Accessories | Interventional Lab | Cath Lab | X-ray Department Solutions

UK Territory | Field-Based Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused and clinically credible Business Development Manager to grow a specialist radiology equipment and accessories portfolio across the UK.

This is a UK field-based role with responsibility for developing sales across MRI departments, interventional radiology suites, cath labs, general X-ray departments, theatres and associated imaging environments. The successful candidate will manage the full accessories portfolio, demonstrate key product lines, develop new opportunities and build long-term relationships with clinical, procurement and operational stakeholders.

The role will focus on building market awareness, increasing sales of key product lines and establishing a structured approach to developing the accessories business across the UK.

The role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for promoting and growing a broad portfolio of radiology equipment and accessories. This will include MRI accessories, interventional and cath lab accessories, X-ray department accessories, positioning aids, protection solutions and other related products used across diagnostic and interventional imaging environments.

You will be expected to take ownership of the portfolio, understand the clinical applications of each product group and identify where the strongest commercial opportunities exist. A key part of the role will involve demonstrating products to clinical teams, supporting evaluations, building confidence in the range and converting opportunities into sales.

This is a consultative sales role requiring strong product knowledge, customer engagement and the ability to work across multiple hospital departments. You will need to be comfortable speaking with radiographers, radiology managers, interventional teams, cath lab staff, theatre teams, procurement departments, EBME teams and senior decision-makers.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop sales for the full radiology equipment and accessories portfolio across the UK
  • Build sales of key product lines across MRI, interventional radiology, cath lab and X-ray departments
  • Identify new business opportunities within NHS Trusts, private hospitals and specialist imaging centres
  • Demonstrate products to clinical teams and support customer evaluations
  • Develop strong relationships with radiology managers, lead radiographers, consultants, procurement teams and department heads
  • Provide customers with clear product advice based on their clinical and operational needs
  • Support quotations, tenders, pricing discussions and commercial follow-up
  • Work closely with internal sales, marketing, customer service and operational teams
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline updates and sales forecasts
  • Attend exhibitions, study days and customer meetings to promote the portfolio
  • Provide market feedback to help shape product focus, pricing, marketing activity and future range development
  • Take ownership of portfolio growth, identifying which product lines require additional focus, training or promotional activity

Portfolio focus

The role will cover a broad range of radiology equipment and accessories, including:

  • MRI accessories and patient support products
  • Interventional radiology and cath lab accessories
  • X-ray department accessories
  • Patient positioning products
  • Radiation protection and shielding-related accessories
  • Theatre and imaging support products
  • Specialist equipment used in diagnostic and interventional environments

The successful candidate will be expected to become a product specialist across the portfolio, able to demonstrate equipment confidently and advise customers on suitable solutions.

Candidate profile

We are looking for a motivated, professional and commercially driven individual with experience in medical sales, radiology sales, imaging equipment, clinical accessories, medical devices or healthcare capital/consumable sales.

Experience selling into radiology, MRI, interventional radiology, cath labs, theatres or wider hospital departments would be highly advantageous. A clinical background in radiography, imaging, cath lab or theatres may also be suitable where the candidate has the commercial drive to move into a business development role.

The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, able to manage a UK-wide territory and comfortable developing a portfolio that has significant growth potential.

You should offer:

  • Proven experience in medical sales, healthcare sales or clinical product development
  • Strong understanding of NHS and private healthcare purchasing environments
  • Experience selling to radiology, imaging, theatre or interventional departments would be highly desirable
  • Confidence demonstrating products and discussing clinical applications
  • Strong relationship-building skills at clinical, procurement and management level
  • Ability to identify, develop and close new business opportunities
  • Excellent organisation, CRM discipline and pipeline management
  • Commercial awareness and confidence managing pricing and quotations
  • Ability to work across the UK with regular travel
  • Full UK driving licence

Personal qualities

The successful candidate will be proactive, professional and highly self-motivated. You will need to be comfortable building something, not simply maintaining an existing territory. This role requires someone who can create momentum, engage customers, follow up opportunities and take ownership of the commercial success of the accessories portfolio.

You should be credible in front of clinical teams, confident when demonstrating products and able to communicate the practical benefits of each solution clearly and professionally.

Why apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist healthcare business with an established reputation in radiation protection and imaging-related solutions.

The role offers UK-wide responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to shape the growth of an important product portfolio. For the right person, this is a chance to become the lead commercial specialist for radiology accessories and play a key role in developing sales across MRI, interventional, cath lab and X-ray departments.

Package

Competitive salary, bonus or commission structure, car or car allowance and company benefits.
