The Fish Tank Lateral Leg Support represents the next generation of orthopedic positioning, specifically engineered to meet the stringent hygiene standards of modern surgical and trauma environments. This "infection control" friendly support provides the same critical elevation for unimpeded cross-table lateral X-rays as traditional models, but with a focus on superior material science and sanitization.

High-Clarity PETG Engineering

Unlike traditional acrylic or Perspex™ supports, the Fish Tank model is constructed from high-strength PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol). This advanced polymer is intentionally selected for its radiological properties:

  • Low-Density Imaging: PETG is less dense than standard Perspex™, resulting in significantly fewer artifacts on the final radiograph.

  • Unobstructed Visualization: Offers a clear field of view from the hip to the patella, effectively clearing the unaffected limb and reducing soft tissue superimposition on the femoral neck.

Superior Infection Control & Safety
  • Removable PU Sling: The patient’s leg is supported by a medical-grade Polyurethane (PU) sling. This non-porous material is highly resistant to fluids and can be easily removed for deep cleaning or replaced if it becomes worn over time.

  • Non-Slip Stability: To ensure patient safety on smooth imaging tables, the unit is fitted with industrial rubber feet on the distal aspect. This prevents the support from sliding during the positioning of the unaffected limb.

  • Clinical Hygiene: The entire PETG frame is designed with smooth, rounded edges and non-porous surfaces, making it highly resistant to aggressive hospital disinfectants and easy to wipe down between patients.
