Overview

The IR Shield is a radiation protection device designed to complement the Adept Medical radial access board, the STARBoard, to form the IR System. Featuring a 0.5mm Lead (Pb) sheet embedded within its vertical face, this radiopaque shield provides additional protection to imaging table operators exposed to scatter radiation emitted from patients during procedures. Positioned between the mattress and the image tabletop, the shield effortlessly slots into a flat board component and is secured in place by the patient's weight, facilitating simple setup and positioning for operators.
